Caranval 2017 was out of this world, literally! The theme was Supernova and everyone really went all-out to dress for the theme, which really made for some great photos. When we were asked if we would be interested in photographing this event a few months ago, we were excited as this has become such a great Charleston tradition each year.
Brock and I had the best time photographing the evening as there was so much going on the entire night. The Clay Center really knows how to throw a party! From the décor, to the food, to the entertainment, it was all planned around the theme. Guests enjoyed an open bar, complimentary valet parking and so much more all while they danced the night away. There were out-of-this world hors d’eouvres and astronomical auction items that were being bid on all night long!

The Celebrity Allstars – Participatory painting with acclaimed local artist Ian Bode – Charleston Ballet – Caperton Planetarium & Theater Experience featuring Vinyl Village – EJ Price, Bravo Live DJ – Mark Scarpelli & Ryan Hardiman – and a special surprise performance from the Hybrid Soul Project.
It was non stop fun for everyone from beginning to end. Even though we were “working,” we had a blast. I hope that we were able to accurately capture the energy and excitement of the evening .
